Primary School Hodosan ( in the text : School ) is made of main school in Hodosan with 10 classes, Regional school Sveti Juraj u Trnju with 2 combined classes ( 1-4 grade) and Regional school Palinovec with 2 combined classes (1-4 grade) also.

To the Main school go pupils from the 1st till the 8 th class from Hodosan, Donji Hrascan, Donji Pustakovec, Palinovec and Sveti Juraj u Trnju.

To the Regional school in Sveti Juraj u Trnju go pupils from 1st to 4 th class from Donji Pustakovec and Sveti Juraj u Trnju.

To the Regional school Palinovec go pupils from the 1st to 4th class from Palinovec.

This whole area is a part of the  Parish of Sveti Juraj u Trnju.

It is rural area.

From the 16th January 2006 we have free bus transport paid by District of Medimurje for pupils from D. Pustakovec, Sveti Juraj u Trnju, Donji Hrascan and Palinovec.

The social and cultural activities in all the villages are local and not sufficient for the needs of school children ( there´s no cinema, theatre, disco, music or other specialized schools, post office, doctor´s office, building – material shop, etc. ) So the School takes over the responsibility for the arrangements of trips to the cities, culture buildings, study tours in all parts of Croatia, gives a lot of public shows and organizes lectures in the school. It is opened to local partnership.

Since the autumn 1996 functions one department for preschoolers ( 33 children in mixed group ) in adapted and partly attached rooms to the School. In 1999 there was an reorganization and it is formed the independent kindergarten “Fticek“ Donji Kraljevec that overtakes the responsibility in organizing the education of preschoolers in whole area of county district Donji Kraljevec. The Primary school Hodosan has issued all the necessary approvals to continue any kind of preschool education in all three regional parts of the School. The School has signed the agreement about the collaboration with the kindergarten "Fticek".

The main problem of this area is decrease of the number of children. In last 10 years the number has decreased from 390 to 216. The Primary School Hodosan  is among schools with less pupils in classes but it has got a huge space.

The care of all the three buildings is huge responsibility for the school management because we get minimal financial funds. The outgoings get bigger because of everyday traveling on the seminars, to the post office, bank, shops, etc. Bad traffic connections of public transport also increase the outgoings and prolong the absence of the teachers and other workers of the School.

The Primary School Hodosan is pleading for better agricultural, cultural and communal progress of this area because in that way people would living in this area because their needs would be pleased.

We are the only school in front of which stops the „ Bibliobus „ - bus library of the library „ Nikola Zrinski „ Cakovec. It stops in front both regional schools of the School also. Since 2006 we have the librarian, so this is not the responsibility of the headmaster or the Croatian teacher any more. During the September 2007 we got the approval for the full working-hours pedagogue. The School is equipped with modern informatics equipment and rich collection of school instruments and means. The workshop of informatics is led by high-educated professional. With the leaders of professional sections for class-teachers, specialized teachers and English teacher it is easier to deal with the problems of modern education and life.

We are the first school in Medimurje that started to work in only one shift in all the classes in January 2003. The whole reconstruction of place and the schedule was made by the School. This was the first step to organizing the prolonged or whole-day residence in the school for the pupils. The concrete step to that was the competition of the Ministry of Education on which we have sent the application form on 15th of September but the procedure was stopped.

The school expects bigger curriculum independence and financial support from the authority. Now is this support and the shipment of the equipment unsatisfactory.

Also this year the School will rely on our own strength, assistance of local management and the help of well-meaning individuals, associations, institutions and firms to realize our main aim: good education of the pupils in Primary School Hodosan.
